How it works

From district data to public trust, in three steps.

  1. Watercolor illustration of district materials moving into a navy PlanStory case1

    You give us the data.

Strategic plans, goals, measures, timelines, evidence, board materials, and the context behind them.

  2. Watercolor illustration of finished PlanStory public views pinned to a presentation board2

    We create the renderings.

PlanStory turns the raw material into finished public views: Data Stories, board-ready pages, and leadership dashboards.

  3. Watercolor illustration of a PlanStory dashboard connected to board, district, and community audiences3

You share it with your community.

Your board, staff, families, and community get one clear place to see the work, the evidence, and the progress.

Board-ready presentation

A strategic plan should look credible the moment it appears on the conference room table.

We pair your district's story, clear data displays, and calm public-sector design so the plan feels credible before a single chart is explained.

Sample formats

The same district plan, rendered three ways.

  1. 1Browse the screenshots to get a quick feel for the design
  2. 2Open the full interactive sample to explore the experience firsthand
  3. 3See which format fits your district's needs

All three previews use the same fictional district, Lakeview Community Schools, and the same underlying strategic plan data. The difference is the communication format we would recommend for the audience, meeting, and public trust moment your district needs to support.

Audience versioning

One plan. Three perspectives.

The superintendent needs the operational detail. The board needs clear progress updates. Families need plain language. PlanStory keeps the source of truth unified while adjusting complexity for each audience. The mapping is simple: Data Story for the community, Hybrid for the board, and Dashboard for superintendent, cabinet, and admin teams.

One plan, three sample formats. The data underneath never changes, only the amount each audience needs to see.

Hybrid · Board

What needs the board's attention before next meeting?

Goal status, target movement, and decision points the board needs in open session. Each indicator carries an owner and a review date.

What this version emphasizes
  • Goal status with trend movement
  • Targets, owners, and update cadence
  • Decision points ready for the agenda

Branding

Design before data

The plan should feel recognizable before it asks people to interpret numbers.

Brand, voice, and format do the first work of public trust. The data matters more when the experience already feels like it belongs to the district.

FAQs

Common questions before a district starts.

Is this software or a done-for-you service?

It is a service-backed product. You get a polished interactive plan, and our team helps structure the data story, copy, design, launch, and refresh plan.

Does this replace our board packet?

No. It gives your board and public a clearer standing reference, while board packets can still carry the official agenda, motions, and supporting documents.

What if our data is messy?

That is common. Essential is best when data is organized; Custom and Deluxe can include data cleanup, measure shaping, and help deciding what should be shown publicly.
